With the presence of the Principal, Vice-principal, faculties and students, a programme is organised by Sri Aurobindo Society, Gingia today on 15.08.2023 at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Behali to celebrate the 151st birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. The programme starts with the burning of incense sticks and offering of flower before the image of Sri Aurobindo by Dr. Ajoy Dutta, a member of the society at 10.30 A.M. It is followed by the statement on the purpose of the programme and an explanation about the need of the centre for the college, especially for the mental, physical and spiritual upbringing and wellbeing of the students by Ms. Jahnabi Nath, the Chairperson of Sri Aurobindo Society, Gingia. She also illustrates the contribution of Sri Aurobindo towards India’s Independence. An animated movie on the life of Sri Aurobindo entitled “Sri Aurobindo: A new Dawn” is screened as a part of the birthday celebration which encompasses a comprehensive report on Sri Aurobindo’s life journey. The Vice-principal, Dr. Sekhar Jyoti Baishya extends his heartiest wishes to the centre and insists on the centre’s carrying on diverse activities for the students’ cause. He also advises the centre to include members from the whole locality so that it can work for a bigger population. The programme comes to an end with the offering of vote of thanks by the chairperson.
