The Department of Zoology of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarshsa Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), Behali, was established in the year 2017. Since its inception the Department of Zoology had been the most preferred Department for the students (as per the students’ enrolment ratios from all the academic sessions). The department offers three years degree course (BSc) in Zoology for both Honours and General at the UG level under Gauhati University and course in Biology (Zoology) at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level under AHSEC.

The faculties of the Department are young, enthusiastic, motivated with excellent academic and research credentials and expertise. Along with teaching, the faculty members are persistently engaged in regular publication of research articles in reputed international peer-reviewed journals.

The department have well equipped laboratory, departmental library and a zoological museum. The Department periodically organizes excursions, field trips, etc. for the Departmental students so that the students are exposed to real life experience in nature. The Department is also maintaining a wall magazine GENESIS, where the students can express their own ideas on the latest advancements in the field of biology and improve their creative writings. The Department aims to provide quality education to the students and also works for their holistic development.
