The Department of Zoology, in association with IQAC, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), Behali, successfully organized an Awareness Programme on Vulture Conservation on 06 May 2026 at the college campus. The programme, titled “Wings of Eternity: Safeguarding Vultures for Tomorrow’s Skies,” was conducted in collaboration with Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve and Bombay Natural History Society, with support from the Assam Forest Department. The event featured an insightful resource talk by Mr. Gitartha Bora, Field Biologist, BNHS, who shared valuable knowledge on the ecological importance of vultures, the major threats responsible for their decline, and the urgent need for their conservation. The programme aimed to raise awareness among students and faculty members about vulture conservation and environmental stewardship. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff members, making it a meaningful and successful initiative toward promoting wildlife conservation and environmental awareness within the academic community.
