The mission of the department to accomplish its vision is:

• To ensure that our students have the integrative and critical thinking skills as well as quantitative and qualitative abilities to analyse complex domestic economic, social and global problems.
• To ascertain that our students have the necessary interpersonal, communication and leadership skills so that they can function as responsible citizens and effective leaders.
• To create a collaborative teaching, learning and research environment that emphasizes social responsibility, ethical decision-making and a global perspective.
• To use new educational tools and technologies like online platform of teaching –learning (WebEx, Google meet, zoom) and sharing educational resources (example: Google classroom, ePathshala etc.) to introduce and acquaint students with available knowledge sharing new technologies.
• To teach students about application of various tools like MS-Excel, PowerPoint etc. to analyse real life economic phenomena.
• To promote and assist student in writing good research papers, articles by introducing them with various research methodologies like collection, organising and analysis of data.
• To encourage students to actively participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, discussion, training at local, national and international levels.
• To imbibe sense of responsibility towards protection and conservation of natural environment.
