Department of Botany, PDUAM, Behali was established in 2017 with 15 students and 03 faculties. The department has grown into a well-recognized centre for higher learning and research in structural, functional and evolutionary aspects of Plants sciences. The department attracts students for higher secondary and undergraduate studies from various places. In addition to teaching through modern techniques, seminars, symposia, workshops, research project, invited lectures are an integral part of academic programme of the department. Excursions, field trips, are conducted as per syllabus of the department.

The Department is also maintaining a wall magazine HORIZON, a knowledge-sharing platform where the students can express their own ideas on the latest advancements in the field of biology and improve their creative writings.

The Department is running an ECO CLUB, funded by the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Guwahati. The Eco Club routinely organizes various environment-related activities, like cleanliness drive, plantation drive, popular talk, quiz competition, etc.

The Department has sufficient infrastructure facilities and expert staff members in different fields of Plant Sciences. The department has highly qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic faculties. The faculty members are mostly engaged in quality teaching, research and publication to add immense value to the academic life. They provide student counseling to ensure multi-dimensional development of the students.
