PDUAM-Behali in association with District Tobacco Control Cell, Biswanath celebrated World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2023. Students, teaching and none-teaching staff of PDUAM Behali and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Behali as well as members from District Tobacco Control cell, Biswanth took part in the event. The event was started with a awareness rally followed by a essay writing competition on the topic “We need food, Not tobacco” and a awareness meeting on ill effects of tobacco. Welcome address was delivered by Principal, PDUAM Behali and a very informative presentation was delivered by Dr Nipen Saikia ( District Coordinator of Tobacco control Cell, Biswanath) and explained the burdens of Tobacco to the society.
