World Environment Day 2026 was observed at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Behali, with a four-day programme from 3rd to 6th June 2026. The events were organised by the Environment Cell of the college in association with the Eco-Club and IQAC under the global theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”
- Plantation Drive: 3rd – 5th June 2026
A plantation drive was carried out on the college campus from 3rd to 5th June 2026. About 75 saplings were planted by faculty members and students. The Turtle Conservation Project, NGO coordinated by Mr. Pradip Mandal, and the Biswanath District Administration supported the plantation drive by providing saplings. - Cleanliness Drive: 4th June 2026
A Cleanliness Drive was conducted on 4th June 2026 within and around the college premises. Students and staff actively participated in cleaning classrooms, dirty walls, corridors, and the surrounding areas. - Formal Meeting & Quiz Competition: 5th June 2026
The main programme was held on 5th June 2026 at 9:30 AM in Classroom No. 14. The event began with a formal meeting where Dr. Debojit Baruah, Principal, PDUAM Behali, delivered the inaugural address on environmental responsibility. Dr. Dhrubajyoti Chakravarty, Vice Principal; Dr. Shafiqul Islam Bhuyan, Coordinator, Eco-Club; Dr. Mofidul Islam, Coordinator, Environment Cell; and Dr. Arunav Phukan, Coordinator, Samarth Portal, shared their thoughts on environmental issues. Faculty members from different departments were actively present at the programme. All the dignitaries were greeted with ornamental plants. The formal meeting was successfully hosted by Ms. Barnali Saikia and ended with light refreshments.
This was followed by a Quiz Competition, and the quiz was conducted by a panel of quiz masters:

- Mr. Pradip Mandal
Prizes were awarded to the top 3 winning groups for their outstanding performance.
- Essay Writing Competition: 6th June 2026
As the concluding event, an Essay Writing Competition was organised on 6th June 2026 for students of the college. Dr. Parinita Bora and Dr. Navarupa Bhuyan were invited as judges in the competition. The competition saw enthusiastic participation and encouraged critical thinking on environmental issues.
The entire four-day observance was successfully coordinated by Dr. Arup Bhowmik, Organising Secretary & Member, Environment Cell, with energetic support from Mr. Pradip Mandal, Dept. of Political Science, PDUAM Behali.
The programme was a great success in inculcating environmental awareness and a step towards a sustainable future.
